Should I book Andrew McKenna Photography?

If you’re a laid-back couple who prefer a more informal approach to photography and are happy to go with the flow, even if that means getting a little wet, then absolutely, yes! Some of our best work has come from couples who aren’t big fans of having their photo taken but trust us to capture their day naturally. We pride ourselves on our relaxed, unobtrusive style and love to interact with guests, family, and friends.

We work efficiently, so you’re not kept away from your celebrations for long. Grab a beer or a glass of bubbly, enjoy your day, and let us do the rest, that’s when we capture you at your best. If this sounds like your vibe, we’d love to be part of your special day.

What’s important to you (Andrew) on the day of our wedding?

For me, it’s all about capturing you your loved ones, family, and friends in their most natural and genuine moments. Those candid bursts of laughter, smiles, and small interactions when people forget the camera is there often become the most treasured memories.

While I do take group shots and portraits, it’s the spontaneous and unplanned moments that I love most. Taking the time to let the day unfold naturally always leads to something magical.

I know many couples can feel awkward in front of the camera, so I do my best to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. I’ll often suggest taking a quiet walk together during the day, just the two of you while I tag along with my camera, capturing those calm, intimate moments.

My style is modern, natural and relaxed, but I work hard to ensure no moment is missed. If you want stunning, heartfelt, and genuine images you’re in the right place.

Are you insured?

Yes Andrew McKenna Photography is fully insured with Public Liability and Professional Indemnity coverage.

Do you require a deposit (booking fee)?

Yes a £100 non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your date. This amount will be deducted from your total balance.
The remaining balance is due one week before your wedding.

Can we cancel our booking?

Yes, you can. However, the £100 deposit is non-refundable after 14 days. Any additional payments made will be refunded according to the contract terms.

Can you hold my date?

Unfortunately, no. Dates are booked on a first come, first served basis. Your date is only confirmed once the £100 booking fee is paid.

Where are you based?

I live, work, and play in Newcastle, County Down, where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea. 🌊

How long do you stay?

That’s entirely up to you. For Full Day Coverage, we’re there from morning preparations right through to your meal or the start of the dancing.

Do we have to feed you?

Only for Full Day Packages!
Matt and I work long hours and usually skip lunch to capture everything so a simple bar meal is perfect to help us recharge. We’re both big foodies and really appreciate it!

Do you take group photos?

Absolutely! We keep group shots short and simple so you can get back to enjoying your day. Our main focus is capturing natural, candid moments, those are always the best photos.

How many photographs will we receive?

For a Full Day Package, you’ll typically receive a minimum of 600 photos, often more, with two photographers covering your day.

How long before we receive our photographs?

Your fully edited gallery will usually be ready within 8-12 weeks after your wedding. During busy months (May-September), it may take a little longer.

How do we access our photographs?

You’ll receive a link to your private online gallery, hosted via Pic-Time. From there, you can download, share, and purchase prints or albums all watermark free. I do not have hidden costs.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel within Northern Ireland is included in the package price.
For weddings in the Republic of Ireland or mainland UK, a small travel fee may apply. We’ll confirm any additional costs during your consultation and we always try to keep them minimal.

Who will be photographing our wedding?

Both Andrew and Matt will photograph your wedding.
If Matt is unavailable, we have a network of trusted assistants through PPANI ready to step in.
In the unlikely event that I can’t attend, a member of the prestigious PPANI group will cover your day, ensuring you’re always in good hands.

How can we pay you?

We accept bank transfer, Revolut, or good old-fashioned cash.
